Part 3: Why Are CFS, Burnout and Subtle Bodies Important to The Future Of Humanity?

By Samantha Keen

This is the third and final article about understanding why subtle bodies are key for the recovery from Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, burnout and some forms of Long COVID could make a big difference in humanity’s ability to thrive in the future. If we can use the knowledge of subtle bodies to recover from these illnesses which are increasingly rife in our society now, then when things get more and more difficult in this regard, we will have tools to get through it.

(See Part 1 and Part 2 of these series if you did not get a chance to read them yet.)

In Part 1, I talked about grounding and lack of grounding in our subtle energies and consciousness as being key to many health issues, including CFS), Long COVID, and burnout.

Grounding and lack of grounding may not be the underlying cause of these illnesses but it is very often a key part of the recovery process for the people that I work with.

Remember I said: Being grounded is something that happens when people are very much anchored in themselves. They are able to stay centered and calm in spite of whatever ruckus is going on around them. When I say that someone as grounded, what I mean is that person has a clear and probably dense connection to their body. They are aware of their body and they can act without appearing to go up into their heads.

Most people that I see in my office have some version of being ‘ungrounded’. People are caught up in their heads, or even above that, off in the clouds, often as a result of being on the phone or other devices. They tend to be distracting themselves from what they are feeling in the current moment, in the body. We have so many distractions that pull us away from ourselves and our center on a daily and even minute-by-minute basis.

Being grounded is being utterly present in the current moment and anchored in the body, especially the lower centers of the belly or the legs.

So How Can You Get Grounded Right Now?

Getting back to your core, or your center in such a way that the distractions of the world and the emotions and thoughts inside of yourself do not pull you out is a pathway to recovery.

Of course, this is a big thing to learn. Much like learning a whole new type of physical exercise, it takes practice and training to build the strength and functionality that has been lost.

1. ATE Book, Sealing the Aura

For my own clients and in my own practice, I use the work of Samuel Sagan that you can find right now in the book Awakening The Third Eye, particularly Chapter 18, Protection: Sealing the Aura.

To work on getting grounded using the third eye techniques, I would recommend starting with the first chapter teaching the third eye meditation, and then working with the techniques of sealing the aura.

In addition to the practices in the book Awakening the Third Eye, I have seen some people use other techniques like martial arts or even some forms of physical activity like boxing or dancing to get in touch with their grounded experience of the body. Of course, you do need to be pretty physically well to do those activities, so a more mild technique like using the third eye to get in touch with the belly may be more appropriate for some folks with the conditions that we are addressing here.

2. Awakening the Etheric Body or Life Force

Being ‘ungrounded’ is also a symptom of being totally out of connection with our own body of life force. Therefore the work on the third eye is key for my clients as this center of energy is a command switch for the whole body of energy.

“Chapter 6 Channel Release and Chapter 8 Practices on the Etheric Body” in the book Awakening the Third Eye, are a fantastic starting point for getting back into touch with the energy of life inside of us.

3. Regular Time in Nature

The etheric body or the body of life is central to our vitality and well being, both energetic and physical. The life inside of us is on the same level as nature. It is a body that merges naturally with nature. So when we spend all of our time at the screen, inside, watching flashing lights, we become cut off or separate from nature and our body of energy gets depleted. As a result of this separation from nature we become ‘ungrounded’.

Getting back into touch with nature, going outside every day, spending time with trees, in the forest, on the mountain, at the beach feeds our own body of life.

So get out there, and spend some time in a garden, in a nature reserve or a park, or go to the beach. Some of my clients like to go golfing, mountain bike riding, hiking, swimming, gardening or just being outside with friends and family. Whatever it is that you love to do outside that gets you regularly in touch with nature, just go and do it.

On top of that, even 10 minutes outside a few times a day, totally off the phone and any other technical gadgets is of great benefit for your grounding and your well being in general.

4. Clearing Blockages in the Belly

Getting in touch with the body and the centers of energy pertaining to the belly centers and below often involves shifting or moving some big emotional blockages. In the book Reclaiming Vitality: A Healing Journey Through Chronic Fatigue and Burnout, I use a number of case studies to illustrate how key this process is to healing for many people.

In my own case of healing from CFS, I did a lot of work to shift the energy of blockages in my belly centers using the Inner Space Techniques (IST) modalities that I now work with as a practitioner. It was immensely liberating, energizing, and empowering. After just a few months of this style of practice, I was able to go back to work first part time and then full time in the hectic world of financial journalism. Not to mention how much joy it brought me to reclaim this vital part of my grounded self.
